Out In Events presents the Official North American Six Flags LGBT Tour, Out in the Parks 2009.

Mark Nelson & Gage Kristofer announced the launch of Out in the Parks which will benefit the National Lesbian and Gay Task Force Action Fund and BBCM. This six-city tour in Six Flags amusement parks throughout the U.S and Canada will provide a fabulous destination for thousands of members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered community and their family and friends. The Tour begins August 16 in Louisville and runs through September 25 in Los Angeles with stops in Baltimore, Montreal, San Francisco and New Jersey in between.

Out in the Parks started six years ago as a regional event at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, called Fairgrounds, Out at Night. “It was a hit from the moment we started it”, says founder Mark Nelson, an award-winning national LGBT events planner, producer and entertainment architect.

This year, Mr. Nelson joined forces with Gage Kristofer, co-producer of the Fairgrounds event since its inception. In the past six years, this single event has grown in attendance, with more than 8,000 people in 2008. With this success in hand and a growing relationship with Six Flags, Out In Events decided to expand to a national “tour”, ensuring the LGBT community across the U.S. and in Canada would have access to a great night of their own in a local park.  “It’s affordable, especially for a weak economy. It’s local and it’s a friendly, refreshing alternative for friends and family needing a great night outdoors to enjoy rides, music and special entertainment”
 says Nelson.

Because these events are private, the LGBT attendees will be free to enjoy these open-air amusement parks as well as the top-flight performers and DJs.

Headlining the Tour are multi-Billboard chart-topping artists Ultra Naté, Sylvia Tosun and Colton Ford. DJ’s on board include Seth Gold, Justin Ryan, Corey Craig and The Perry Twins. Plus, entertainers Telling on Trixie, The Dixie Spurs, The Paradiso Girls, Morningwood and the cast of LMFAO.

Each park will vary and rotate the talent and DJS announced.

A portion of the proceeds for Out in the Parks 2009 benefits the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Action Fund. The mission of the Task Force is to build the grassroots power of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. They do this by training activists, equipping state and local organizations with the skills needed to organize broad-based campaigns to defeat anti-LGBT referenda and advance pro-LGBT legislation, and building the organizational capacity of their movement. They also analyze and report on the positions of candidates for public office on issues of importance to the LGBT community.
